The California Health Collaborative (Collaborative) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) health organization with a presence in over three quarters of California’s fifty-eight counties.
Guided by its mission of "changing lives by improving health and wellness," the Collaborative builds partnerships to administer and implement a wide range of innovative community health solutions that improve the lives of underserved culturally diverse populations.
The California Health Collaborative holds four out of ten regional contracts for the statewide Cancer Detection Programs: Every Woman Counts, which provides outreach, education and free breast and cervical cancer screening services for low income and under or uninsured women. We are seeking a Health Educator for a 32 hour per week position to assist the two Health Educators in the Bay Area Region 8 & Northern California Region 10. From an office in Santa Rosa, the new Health Educator will cover the six counties of Marin, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Solano and Sonoma in the Bay Area Region 8 & Northern California Region 10. She will be responsible for developing and implementing a targeted outreach program and providing tailored health education to CDP: EWC eligible priority population women.
A Masters degree in Health Education, Community Health, or Public Health is required. Minimal travel to the Collaborative’s Chico and Oakland offices and moderate travel within the six counties is also required (travel reimbursement included). Experience with targeted outreach strategies, health education and women’s health issues is preferred as is bilingual ability in Spanish. The Collaborative is seeking an independent, articulate, self-starter who is passionate about women’s health.
