CalFresh Healthy Living
Who We Are
The mission of CalFresh Healthy Living is to create innovative partnerships that empower low-income Californians to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity, and food security with the goal of preventing obesity and other nutrition-related chronic diseases.
To celebrate National Dairy Month try the recipe below:
Retail Program — creates innovative partnerships with California supermarkets, grocery store chains, independent markets, and produce industry stakeholders (growers, packers, shippers, and commodity boards) to increase the purchase and consumption of fruits and vegetables among low-income adults, children, and families.
Health Care Program — Works with hospitals and clinics to improve: knowledge of basic nutrition education and encourages physical activity; foster supportive home environments that encourage healthy lifestyle choices; and establish hospital and clinic policies, in order to empower low-income families to consume the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables and enjoy the benefits of physical activity.
