Brief Solution-Focused Therapy – Applications for Tobacco Use Disorder Treatment

Monday, May 23, 2022, 12-1pm EST

MaineHealth – Center for Tobacco Independence

Brief Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, BSFT is a hope friendly, positive emotion-eliciting and future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change. In this webinar, we will discuss some of the key concepts and tools of BSFT, including goal development questions, looking for previous solutions, looking for exceptions, present and future-focused questions vs. past-oriented focus, compliments, the Miracle Question, and scaling questions.
