Who We Are

Due to the 2020 COVID-19 global pandemic, millions of families across California have been experiencing a surge in stress in their households. As students returned to in person education, schools have encountered an unprecedented need for heightened social and emotional support for students, families, and educators alike. Enter Young Minds Kings County, a dynamic new mental health prevention program designed to better equip youth in grades (K-12) with practical tools and self-regulation strategies to decrease stress and anxiety while boosting school performance.

Through the implementation of evidence-based curricula designed to support social-emotional development, coping skills, and mindfulness, Young Minds aims to achieve these key goals:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety among students
  • Decrease risk for school failure
  • Boost emotional self-regulation skills
