Who We Are

The California Personal Responsibility Education Program (CA PREP) is a teen pregnancy prevention program in Kings County, funded by the California Department of Public Health – Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program.

Goals

  1. Decrease teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.
  2. Ensure access to teenfriendly reproductive health planning services and
  3. Increase community support in the development of healthy youth and the reduction of risky sexual behaviors

    CalFresh Healthy Living

    Who We Are

    The mission of CalFresh Healthy Living is to create innovative partnerships that empower low-income Californians to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity, and food security with the goal of preventing obesity and other nutrition-related chronic diseases.

    FEATURED RECEIPE

    Retail Program

    Creates innovative partnerships with California supermarkets, grocery store chains, independent markets, and produce industry stakeholders (growers, packers, shippers, and commodity boards) to increase the purchase and consumption of fruits and vegetables among low-income adults, children, and families.

    Health Care Program

    Works with hospitals and clinics to improve: knowledge of basic nutrition education and encourages physical activity; foster supportive home environments that encourage healthy lifestyle choices; and establish hospital and clinic policies, in order to empower low-income families to consume the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables and enjoy the benefits of  physical activity.
